The IUCN Species Survival Commission’s Vulture Specialist Group (VSG) is dedicated to vulture conservation, research and education worldwide. It was established in 2011 and is made up of biologists, conservationists and people from other areas of expertise that work with or have an interest in vultures. The conservation philosophy is based on the concept that groups of concerned people can take a group of threatened species under their protection and assume responsibility for their survival.
The VCF is the European regional co-chair of the IUCN´s VSG. The IUCN VSG produces a newsletter twice a year – you can download the latest number below. The IUCN VSG also has a journal called Vulture News, published since 1979 and a venue for research, news, information and reports on vultures in all parts of the world where they occur. Contributions from ornithologists, research biologists, bird watchers, conservationists and any other interested people are encouraged - please see contributor information for more details on how to contribute to Vulture News.
If you want to receive the IUCN VSG newsletter, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list
