For the first four days of October, we will be bringing together scientists, conservationists and the public in the Algarve, Portugal for an international congress looking at the latest research and conservation of vultures, in our first European Vulture Conference. The fourth day of the conference will be dedicated to field trips, exploring the stunning surroundings, observing vultures and other Portuguese wildlife.
Leading vulture conservationists
Some of the world’s leading experts in vulture conservation and research will be joining us to share their work during the European Vulture Conference. Our keynote speakers have worked in renowned universities and international organisations and will be discussing various topics, from wildlife crime to social foraging behaviour of vultures.
Workshops and symposia
As well as keynote presentations, the European Vulture Conference will also bring together colleagues from across the vulture conservation and research fields during participatory workshops and symposia. Confirmed topics so far:

Be part of the conversation by submitting your abstract
Our scientific committee is excited to hear from you! We are looking forward to learning about the various vulture conservation work and research our international colleagues have been conducting.
There are different ways you can share your expertise. You can present a poster, standard 15-20 minute talk or a five-minute speedy talk.
Abstracts of a maximum of 300 words can be submitted for oral presentations, speedy talks and posters. You will be asked to indicate your preferred form (standard 15-20 minute talk, 5-minute speedy talk or poster) but depending on the number of submitted abstracts, we might not be able to fulfil all requests.
The abstract submission deadline has passed. Many thanks to everyone who submitted an abstract. The scientific committee will now check all abstracts and get back to the first-author if the abstract was accepted for presentation or not by the end of June.
We will shortly be able to present you with a more detailed program. Please don't forget to register for the conference if you have not done so.
