Annual bearded vulture meeting, November 2015 - the conclusions are now out!

The main conclusions of the annual bearded vulture meeting 2015, held in the end of November last year in Corte, Corsica, can be downloaded below. In this annual conference, gathering 80+ experts, scientists, fieldworkers, conservation managers and site managers working with this species, we present the results from the field, discuss best practice, and plan ahead projects and actions.

The VCF is now leading an European-wide strategy to restore the species across the continent, that includes the continuation of the three on-going reintroduction projects (Alps, Andalucía and Grands Causses), the management of the captive breeding network for reintroduction, and the conservation of the surviving natural populations, with an emphasis on the highly threatened island population in Corsica, where the VCF and the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse will start a reinforcement project this year.

The 2016 annual bearded vulture meeting will probably take place in Austria - watch this space for news!
