New VCF film on the bearded vulture reintroduction project in the Alps

Last week the first two bearded vultures were released in the Grands Causses (see below). Over the next few days more birds will be released in several sites across the Alps, part of the Alps bearded vulture reintroduction project, that is being led by the VCF since the late seventies.

This project has already re-established the species in the Alps – there are now 30 breeding pairs in the wild, and is one of the most successful wildlife comeback stories in Europe.

The VCF has produced a short film about it – please watch, enjoy and spread around.
